The Universe as a Computation?
I just got done reading a wonderful book by Rudy Rucker called "The Lifebox, the Seashell, and the Soul". It explores the possibility that the universe and everything in it are computations. This idea is not new and was argued for strongly a few years ago by Stephen Wolfram in his book "A New Kind of Science." However, Rucker does a great job of explaining the basic ideas behind this viewpoint and also why it may not be enough. More to come on this shortly.
